Mentoring Requirement
Each student is required to identify a mentor. The mentor should not be someone from your immediate family. Choose an adult from within the congregation. It is the student’s responsibility to approach and ask the adult if they are willing to participate. 8th graders, you are encouraged to keep your mentor from the previous year if they are willing to continue.
Over the course of the program year, the student and adult will meet at least (but not limited to) 3 times. Pastor Scott will provide discussion topics for the meetings based on Confirmation topics, but conversations between the two individuals are aimed at talking about how your faith is lived out within your day to day life. It is the responsibility of the student to arrange meeting times with the mentor, though the mentor needs to make themselves available to the student. Following each meeting, both the student and the mentor will sign off on the discussion sheet, and return it to Pastor Scott for record keeping purposes.
Please do not neglect this aspect of the program.
